Understand Leakage Information in Patient Paths
Understand the percent of patients who receive care outside your network in Patient Paths. We have added summary leakage statistics at both the network level and NPI level to convey how well you keep patients in-network. Understand overall leakage from facilities in your network by using the Network filter in the top right of the page. Choose a network from the dropdown to display the percentage of leakage from the selected network. (Note only networks containing the NPI featured on the page will appear in the dropdown.) You’ll also see the Facility Leakage percentage, which informs you of leakage for the specific NPI.
View New Data in Patient Paths
We have incorporated Emergency Room (ER) and Observation data into the Patient Paths report to better explain how a patient entered a facility. You’ll see two new slices in Patient Paths: Inpatient ER and Outpatient ER/Observation. Inpatient ER represents patients who entered inpatient status via the ER. Outpatient ER/Observation represents patients who went back into a hospital setting with an outpatient ER or Observation claim. Since we now provide leakage data and display specific facilities in the Patient Destinations table, we have removed the Original Inpatient slice from this report.
Enhanced Insights in Physician Analyze Pages
To see how a physician compares to others in a network, we have added additional benchmarking to the Physician Analyze page in the Insights section. The Networks dropdown will drive the comparison group. The new insight displays the percentile a provider is in, for a given metric, compared to others in the chosen network. The red or green text indicates whether a percentile above or below the 50th percentile is favorable for the given metric. For instance, post-acute care utilization is typically beneficial to patients, so the text will be green for providers who fall above the 50th percentile. In contrast, high total cost of care may show a provider struggles to manage costs. In this instance, a high percentile is not ideal, so red text will display. Lastly, the number of Medicare patients is not color-coded.
Your last viewed network on the Home page will default in the Networks dropdown on the Analyze page; click the dropdown to change the network.
